The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) is curently embarking on a number of international collaborations. With support from the Shangahi Municipal government STA is currently developing plans for a new media campus, the design of which will draw heavily on the QUT Creative Industries Precinct, sometimes called the Queensland Model in China. At STA Marina Guo (Guo Meijun), who is Director of International Programmes, is currently developing a series of international collaboration developments. In 2010 Marina was recipient of an Australian Endeavour Award and spent 6 months at QUT. See Marina’s story. On 17th March 2011 Michael Keane visited Shanghai Theatre Academy and discussed potential collaboration between STA and QUT. He met senior staff and gave a presentation to students about international creative clusters.
